1. Avoid eating a large meal before sleeping to decrease reflux and weight gain.
2. Major: Avoid eating a large meal before sleeping
Minor: Helps risk of reflux and weight gain
Conclusion: You will decrease the risk of reflux and weight.
3. P is true therefore q is true so this is valid.
4. Valid and true because the conclusion follows its premises, regardless of the truth of premises.
5. If you avoid eating a large meal before sleeping then you will decrease your reflux and weight.
6. This conditional statement has a solution mathematically (tautology), and can make sense in real life. This is a true fact. But logically it could not be conditional if someone doesn’t follow these steps. For example, if you eat a lot before bed and are trying to loose weight, you may not loose the weight.
If a person does not eat before sleeping
then they will loose weight and have less reflux.
P: if the person doesn't not eat before sleeping
q: then they will have a decrease of weight and reflux
if p, then q.

  1. I agree with your conclusions. The most interesting part of the assignment for me was the questions on the last page (7-10), which you might not have noticed. I would be interested in your opinion of the media content.

  2. carly,

it kind of looks like you struggled a little bit with this assignment, as there are several pieces missing from it. the major, minor, conclusion portion sets the stage for the rest of the assignment and your set up does not follow. the topic you chose is interesting, however, the follow though isn't all there.
